Exactly one year ago today, this is the smile on my face as I walked away from my corporate job. I had no idea what would happen, I still don’t — and I love that. #TRUST
I didn’t leave that job with resentment or animosity for the corporate world, we are all making our own decisions and living the life of our choosing — remember that. I left the job with infinite gratitude knowing that it played a huge role in making this leap possible.
All doors in the yoga world were swinging wide open for me, things had aligned and the moment had arrived. I handed over my computer, my ID badge and the funny idea of financial stability. Then, with a heart full of wonder & faith, exited the building.
This is not a reminder for you to quit your job and follow your passions. This is a reminder that you are in the right place at the right time and that if you trust the process and feel in closely for the grace in each moment, then it will all unfold exactly as it should. If you’ve been hungry for a change,TRUST that it’s on its way and will only arrive at the perfect moment.
Do the work. Honor what you have and what has been. Relinquish any attachment to the outcome. Through this timeless wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita you will find liberation. All of these texts and practices are here for us to release some of what binds us. Use every tool you can.
Since leaving, I’ve been able to step fully into teaching yoga; leading retreats, workshops and trainings around the world PLUS release a Billboard charting album. I’ve been surfing nearly every day, tending a garden that feeds me well and, still working hard with no attachment to the outcome.
Trust where you are amongst it all. Minimize your suffering by letting it happen as it should, without needing to force anything. When the fruit falls easily from the stem, it is ready for you. I hope this reminder finds you at exactly the right moment.
